Welcome to everything Rookie Ball related. Birchmount Baseball League is proud to have grown a large successfull Rookie Ball division, which allows our baseball enthusiasts to continue improving the skills they learned in 4-Pitch and prepare them before they enter Mosquito.

Below is everything you need to know about the Rookie Ball division at Birchmount Baseball League.


AGE: Players born 2010 or 2009 (8 or 9 yrs old by DECEMBER 31, 2018) are eligible to play in this division.

GAMES & PRACTICES: The schedule will be issued to players & families at the beginning of the season. Games will be played each week and players are asked to show up 1/2 hr prior to the game to warm-up and practice. A separate practice may be introduced, depending on the coaches availability.

TIME: 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

DATES: Monday & Wednesday (occasional make up games are scheduled Tuesday or Thursday)

LOCATION: Birchcliff Heights Elemtary School Fields & Map Locations

EQUIPMENT:
- Players are required to bring their own glove;
- Jock/Jill is required to avoid injury;
- players own bat and/or batting hat (optional)
- Uniforms are provided and must be worn at all times. Players will NOT be permitted to PLAY if they do not have the correct clothing.

2018 FEE: $195 (refer to the Policies Tab for Cancellation terms)

Game Play: Rookie Ball uses a pitching machine which "throws" the ball at around 40mph. Players have five chances to hit a fair ball. Game play continues similar to regular baseball, with the offensive team finishing their turn at bat after three outs (or after scoring five runs).
